UCD Students’ Union is nominated for an AIB Better Ireland Award for our annual ‘Discover UCD’ programme. This programme is now in its seventh year and sees groups of primary school students from disadvantaged schools visiting Belfield each March to see how accessible university education is. It’s a really enjoyable and beneficial programme, and will be running from 15-19 March this year. If the SU wins the award, we’ll receive a bursary that will be invested into the programme, allowing us to bring more schools to UCD and do more activities with the pupils.
If you could all just take a minute of your time to vote for the SU, we’d really appreciate it!
You can vote online, just follow this link: http://www.betterireland.ie/vote.html and select the AIB branch we’re linked to, which is Dublin – UCD. Then select “University College Dublin Students’ Union”. You can vote once a day per email address.
Alternatively, you can text “UCD C” to 51303 (standard text rates apply).

Tickets for the UCD Ball go on sale on Monday 22 February at 1pm . Tickets are available from the SU shops in the Library Building and Student Centre, and online at www.ucdball.ie, at only 35 euro.
The UCD Ball takes place on the last day of term, Friday 23 April. Last Wednesday, Early Bird tickets for the ball sold out in a record-breaking 4 minutes – so be sure not to miss out. A UCD student can purchase up to four tickets and be accompanied to the event by up to three non-UCD students.
Take 8,000 students, mix in a field with 2 live stages, add in a generous helping of live acts, sprinkle with international names, fold in some cheesy pop and insert the rind of intermittent electro. Cook on high temperature for 10 hours and enjoy!
